LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR

​Cheer Families,
We are super excited for tryouts to begin this weekend! If you haven't yet registered, use the form below.

PARENT MEETING:  We are very excited to meet our new families and answer questions about our upcoming season THIS FRIDAY, 6-8 PM! We ask that all families new to travel attend in person. There will be limited seating, so we will send out a zoom link for those who are able to attend at home.
  • ZOOM link will be sent to those registered for tryouts or sideline teams. Make sure you are registered by checking under "Classes" in GoMotion.
  • FIRST HOUR, 6:00-7:00pm: For all families
  • SECOND HOUR, 7:00-8:00: For travel division and those possibly interested in travel
  • Make sure you read the full Season Six Info Packet before the parent meeting, and come with questions

DIVISION UPDATE:  We are looking for a handful of additional athletes of all ages who are possibly interested in travel. If you thought your child wouldn't be ready for our travel division, but you'd like them considered for a travel team anyway, email me! We will take a look at their stunting and tumbling during tryouts and see if they'd be a good fit. The travel teams only have one trip (Disneyland), otherwise, their commitment is very similar to our non-travel teams. Attend the full parent meeting for more info.

TRYOUTS:  Tryouts begin this weekend. See article below for what to bring and wear. Make sure you arrive 15-20 minutes early to get through check in!

PARADE TEAMS JUNE PRACTICES:  We have decided to add free June practices for our Mini and Junior parade teams since their parades have been pushed out. These practices will be once per week, and to help them review their parade dance and have fun leading up to their two parades! No new material will be taught, so if your athlete cannot make these extended practices, they are still okay to attend both parades.
  • Mini, Mondays in June, 5:00-6:00
  • Junior, Mondays in June, 6:00-7:30
  • Parade 1: June 18th
  • Parade 2: July 4th
Note, these will not be reflected in GoMotion until after the last May practice.

The parade outfits turned out super cute and the kids look fabulous on picture day this weekend! Even though we had to move it indoors, we got some great shots and even team pictures!

TRYOUTS

8U and 12U tryouts are this weekend. If you are not sure which tryout you have registered for, please check your GoMotion classes. Most athletes are registered based on their age (for example, 8U is age 8 and under, so ages 5-8), however, previous year's athletes may have signed up for another tryout depending on their previous team. A few important notes:
  • Arrive 15-20 minutes early for check in!
  • 12U tryouts is TWO days. The first day they learn a dance and stunt, and the second day they learn a cheer and are evaluated for jumps and tumbling. Athletes must plan to attend both days.
  • Material will not be released ahead of time. Athletes do not need to prepare anything for tryouts.

To wear and bring:
  • WEAR: All black, or dark colored, fitted athletic wear: shorts or leggings, fitted top or sports bra. No need to buy anything new. Bow optional!
  • SHOES: Our mats are for indoor cheer shoes only, If you do not yet have cheer shoes, bring clean bottom tennis shoes or plan to wear socks.
  • HAIR: Hair must be in a high high ponytail with no wispy or loose pieces. If you choose to wear a bow, have it facing forward and standing up.
  • BRING: Full water bottle and a smile!
ORDER SHOES: If you haven't ordered cheer shoes for your child, please do so ASAP. All athletes in the gym (with the exception of our Tiny Tots) must practice in cheer shoes. <ORDER HERE>
