SPECIAL WEEKLY UPDATE!
This is a SPECIAL WEEKLY UPDATE with a very exciting announcement.
IT’S MY BIRTHDAY!
And what would a birthday be without PRESENTS!
We are sending three athletes to Nationals in Disneyland for FREE!
Many of you know that the lemonade stand is actually a year round fundraiser. CEC supplies the staff salary to run the stand, and all the profits go into a scholarship fund that will cover the travel expenses for some of our athletes to attend Nationals in Disneyland (estimated $2000 per athlete)! The lemonade stand was only open for half of the year, so this year I am also matching the profits! This means we have 3 spots open for full scholarships, or 6 open for half scholarships (or some other equal combination) for the 22-23 season (2023 trip). For additional details and to apply, <CLICK HERE>.
Now some of you may say, wait! You aren’t supposed to GIVE presents for your birthday. To you I say, okay fine! Please take a minute to review my birthday wish list and see if there is something you can gift. This organization would not be the same without the contributions we see from our families.
1) Write a positive review or send feedback.
2) Donate to the GoFundMe started by one of our awesome families to help cover the $1800 spent on COVID tests and other unexpected expenses from 2021.
Some of you might not know this, but Cascade Elite is a non-profit, not a business. This means I am paid a flat salary, approved by our board, and I do not take “profits” when the organization has a good season or year. This also means that every dollar we spend has to come from somewhere. There is no “profit” to dip into. When we set our prices for the year, we do buffer in some unexpected costs we know will come up, but we want to be careful not to overcharge our families. This year we’ve been hit with more unexpected costs than I could have imagined due to COVID and the new building. The most recent example being the 140 COVID tests we purchased in December, totally over $1800 after tax. Many of our families cannot afford these small expenses that come up throughout the year, so I do everything in my power to not pass on these fees, however small per person. For those of you that can, please <DONATE HERE>
3) Donate your time.
We hope you had an amazing holiday season and look forward to having everyone back next week! Keep an eye out for Monday's Weekly update as there will be some very important updates, including response to the spread of Omicron. Let me know if you have any questions,
