*NEW* MANDATORY WEEKEND PRACTICECarrie Anderson, Gym Director
During either a Saturday or Sunday in February, each team will have one mandatory extended practice. This practice will allow their coaches to take all the pieces of the routine the athletes have been learning and put it together with their music. Since it's a long day, coaches will also be breaking up practice with team bonding and snack breaks, so pack some things for your athlete!. It's very important every athlete is at this practice, as even missing one person changes being able to complete a routine "full-out". The dates and times are loaded into TeamSnap as well as listed below. Saturday 2/13: Crowns (1-4) and Queens (4-8) Sunday 2/14: Reign (10-2) Saturday 2/27: Royals (1-3), Majesties (3-5), and Tiaras (5-8) Sunday 2/28: Everett (10-2) and Princesses (2-6) NOTE: Other than picture day (likely April 3rd) and Nationals (tbd) I don't plan on adding anything to this season's calendar. I appreciate we all are juggling multiple schedules and it can be a lot to manage! |
Check out Arianna landing her cartwheel in tumbling class! Coach Malena says she loves working with Arianna because of her enthusiasm and positive attitude. Go Ari!

BATTLE OF THE BOWS FORMS!All teams will be getting Battle of the Bows forms this week at practice. Their coach will spend a few minutes talking about the competition and helping them select categories to enter. Here is how you can help your athlete:
CATEGORIES: Help them determine how many categories they should enter. If they are a newer cheerleader or nervous about performing, consider selecting just one category. If they are a confident, experienced athlete, they might considering going for the "Overall" award, which requires them to participate in jumps or tumbling, dance and cheer. If they aren't sure what they are best at, have them select which sounds the most fun! COMPLETE FORM: Tear off the front page and stick the flyer to your fridge. Complete the form on the second page to turn in, but don't forget to write down your athlete's competition window(s)! Every athlete will have a different schedule based on the categories they select. STUNT: If they want to compete in stunt, but don't have a stunt group, have them ask their coach for help forming one. There will be an optional open gym on 2/19 (7-9 pm) for stunt groups to meet and work together. If they are a younger athlete or new to cheer, stunt might not be the best category for them. Have them check with their coach. COMP SWAG: There are a few optional swag items we are selling that athletes will get THE DAY of the COMPETITION! On the form there are tees and hoodies, but I ALSO forgot to add our Battle of the Bows exclusive stickers! They are water bottle sized and on sale for $2. Feel free to write that in on your swag form and include it with your payment. |
